Starbucks is back with another bear, and this one is pink. The new Pink Bearista glass cold cup comes with a tiny hat and a strawberry straw topper, and after the last Bearista sold out in a frenzy, people are already planning their approach.
Here’s the release timeline and how to give yourself the best shot at one.
When you can get it
The rollout happens in two waves:
- July 9: early access for Starbucks Rewards Reserve members through the Starbucks Shop, the chain’s online store
- July 13: launches in select coffeehouses across the US, Canada, Asia Pacific, Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa
And there’s a catch built in: Starbucks is putting a two-per-customer limit on the cups, specifically so more people get a shot before they vanish.
What it actually looks like
The Pink Bearista is a glass cold cup shaped like a little bear, wearing a hat, topped with a strawberry straw topper. It’s inspired by the Pink Drink, the strawberry açaí refresher that’s become one of Starbucks’ most-ordered cold drinks and a permanent fixture of the summer menu.
The whole thing is designed to be, in Starbucks’ words, “unbearably cute,” which is exactly the kind of pun the internet was going to make anyway.
Why this keeps happening
Starbucks figured out something a while ago: a well-designed cup can go more viral than a new drink. The original Bearista cold cup sold out fast and lit up resale listings, turning a piece of drinkware into a full-blown event.
The playbook is simple. Make it limited, make it cute, tie it to a fan-favorite drink, and let the scarcity do the marketing. The two-per-customer cap isn’t just crowd control, it’s a signal that these are going to move.
If you want one
Your best bet is the July 9 early window if you’re a Rewards Reserve member. If not, you’re looking at July 13 in stores, and given how the last Bearista went, “while supplies last” is doing a lot of heavy lifting in that sentence.
Translation: show up early, or get comfortable watching them sell out from your phone.
