“If the car wants to start itself, it can pay its own payments too.”

A Chevrolet owner was stunned when his car began trying to start itself—with no one inside.

Ryan (@ryanking5683) documented the bizarre, seemingly “possessed” behavior in two viral TikTok videos that have now racked up over 1.9 million views.

In the first video, Ryan’s new Chevrolet SUV suddenly appears to start up on its own, with the engine trying to turn over and lights flashing erratically. “What the f*ck,” he mutters, recording the strange scene from outside the vehicle.

“My car just randomly tries to start by itself,” he explains. Later, Ryan records from the driver’s seat without touching any controls, as the car continues to attempt starting on its own.

My possessed car! Chevy said they replaced the engine and there’s nothing else wrong with it. Prior to this it would randomly start and alarm. Its a brand new car i shouldnt be dealing with this right now! #possessedcar

“It’s been doing it while I was in the house. Came out to the car, opened it up—it’s still trying to start,” he says.

In a follow-up post, Ryan shares that he was relaxing with his dogs when he noticed the car was still trying to start itself outside. Walking to his front door, he films the vehicle’s repeated attempts.

Comments poured in, with one user advising, “You really need to unhook the battery, dear. Lucky the starter hasn’t shorted out and caused a fire yet.” Another joked, “Stop paying the payment. It’ll go from being possessed to repossessed in about 3 months.”
